The instructions below describe the steps to create the Webegum News page of this site. This page contains excerpts of the Webegum News posts.

Setup

  1. When at the editing area for the page, click the “Elementor” button to enter the Elementor editor.
  2. Click “Add New Section” button icon  to create a space for editing.
  3. Select the 2-column layout.
  4. Hover over the gap between the 2 columns and drag the left column edge until it occupies 75% of the width.

Main Content

  1. Click in the left column to show the widgets available on the Elementor sidebar.
  2. Scroll down the list (scroll bar on the right of sidebar) and drag the Edit Posts widget to the right content column.
    1. In the Content tab and layout option,
      select “cards” for the skin
      select 3 for the columns
      turn Masonry on
      hide “Read More”
    2. In the Content tab and query option,
      select the Webegum News category.
    3. In the Style tab,
      and Layout option, enter 10 for the column and row gaps
    4. In the Style tab,
      and Card option, Border option, enter “1” for the border width
    5. In the Style tab,
      and Content option, click the color box and enter #ed702b for the orange color used elsewhere for links.
  3. Click the Settings icon in the Elementor sidebar lower left. 
  4. Turn the Hide Title switch to “YES”.

Sidebar

  1. Scroll the widgets list to the Archives widget and drag it to the right column.
  2. Enter “Webegum News” for the Title.
    Check the “Display as dropdown” box.
    [This widget will show access to all posts. All posts are assumed be in the Webegum News category.]
  3. The “Page Description” Heading and content below in the Image widget are related to these instructions and not normally part of this page.
  4. Click the “Update” button at the bottom of the Elementor sidebar to save the page edits.

Final Steps

  1. Click the “Update” button at the bottom of the Elementor sidebar to save the page edits.
  2. Click the hamburger icon in the Elementor sidebar, then click the “Exit to Dashboard” button to exit Elementor.Read
